The CMU Biological Station campus, at the south end of Beaver Island, provides classroom space for season classes for credit and specialty courses field-based specialty courses that take advantage of  CMU's faculty expertise, first-rate research facility, and its unique location on Beaver Island.  The specialty course will  appeal to a more diverse group of undergraduate and graduate students at CMU and and across the region  to working professionals and individuals  wishing to expand their knowledge on a wide range of topics. Biological Station also offers access to a library, including a wide variety of Great Lakes and fisheries research books and journals collections.
