Bearcat’s Fish House was established in Algoma, Wisconsin in June of 1986 as a small family business.  The only employees were Bearcat, his wife Linda, and their two young daughters.

Bearcat’s moved to it’s current location in June of 1997. The retail store was expanded and new products were added. An up-to-date HACCP-approved smoking facility was also constructed at that time.

In September 2012, ownership switched to Billy and Nicole and their two young daughters, allowing Bearcat and Linda to enjoy retirement. However, don’t be surprised to see Bearcat and Linda still working in the store from time to time!
