Learn about the life of a Lake Michigan commercial fisherman aboard the 1939 wooden gill-net fish tug, Evelyn S. The 50' wooden vessel fished out of Manistique and Frankfort , MI.  After 40 years of service, she was purchased for the Michigan Maritime Museum where she became an education exhibit honoring Lake Michigan  commercial fishermen and their traditions. Within the last decade, the Evelyn S. has been undergoing restoration on the museum grounds where visitors can watch the work in progress.

The Michigan Maritime Museum is dedicated to the preservation of Michigan Great Lakes and waterways maritime history and culture and has an in-water fleet of recreational, commercial and USCG vessels.
